Where and When is it: The nature of Promised Lands is to keep the game in one location for long. This is due to the nature of the Doctor Who setting, in there will be many numerous setting locations that will be visited here. Changes will be announced on the OOC comms and on the IC comms as well.
The Rift: This is how your character arrived here, they have arrived with nothing more than the items on their person. The Rift is a natural rip in the fabric of time and space that runs through various locations of Earth very much like the fault lines on the planet. This makes Earth a very desirable location for many alien visitors who seek to take advantage of the planet's most unique resource.
For those that have came through the Rift, there is no going back through it again without risking death or becoming lost forever. When a character leaves it is assumed that they have became a victim of the Rift, and it is unknown as to where they have been taken to.
The Rift does not only provide a gateway for many allies, it also allows for many unsavory creatures to enter or for other worlds to deposit pieces of alien technology be it beneficial or malevolent.
What did my character come with?:Your character has arrived with whatever was on their person at the time. If they have a favorite weapon, it's best to make sure this is included on their person and not in the closet. If they were sitting in a wheel chair, then the wheelchair will be there for them. If there is something that your character needs to survive, please get in touch with one of the moderators and we will take it into consideration.
What about my TARDIS?: If you are applying for a Doctor, Master, or other character with a TARDIS, sorry we are only allowing six of them in the game. This will allow for three in both factions. If there is a slot open, and you are interested in one of them contact the moderators.
What about Time Travel?: Time Travel is one of the major parts of the Doctor Who universe, and while the majority of the events take place on Earth there will be some time travel based events. The Time Lords will be the ones responsible for the majority of the missions of this nature, but there are other forces out there that might have some sway in the matter.
Death: Characters without immortality can and will die here, that's the nature of a game like this. Your character before they arrived had their memories and personality stored in the Matrix on Gallifrey, and they will be constantly updated as the game goes on. When your character dies they will be brought back by means of The Matrix and a genetic loom. They will return to their same body, but they will be a little fuzzy for a week before they return to normal.
There is a limit as to how many times this can be done, and the Time Lords have set the limit to twelve. When your character reaches this point they are dead. This of course does not apply to immortal characters. But, this does not mean your character cannot be touched, or removed from the game if they are abusing ICC/ICA.
